Panzerschreck (tank terror in German language) is an anti-tank weapon used by Germany during World War II. It was made in much smaller numbers than the Panzerfaust. It was developed by copying the US Army "bazooka", but made considerably more capable in armor penetration to deal with then current and future Red Army tanks. Whereas the early bazooka shells had problems with German 100mm armor, notably on the Tiger tank, the more advanced Panzerschreck shells could penetrate over 200mm of armor by the end of the war, enough to deal with any tank fielded at the time.
