Paula Hitler (January 21, 1896 - June 1, 1960) was the sister of Adolf Hitler, and was the last child of Alois Hitler and his third wife Klara Pƶlzl. Paula was born on January 21, 1896 in Hartfeld, Austria. She was the only full sibling of Adolf Hitler who survived infancy. Her brother Adolf Hitler in 1936 asked her to change her name to Paula Wolff. Wolff had been Hitler's childhood nickname. Paula worked as a secretary in a military hospital until the end of the Second World War. She was captured by US Intelligence officers in May 1945. Paula was released from US custody and returned to Austria. In 1952 she moved to Berchtesgaden, Germany where she lived in seclusion until her death on June 1, 1960. Paula never married or had children. She is buried in the Bergfriedhof in Berchtesgaden under the name Paula Hitler.
