Pereslavl-Zalessky (Пересла́вль-Зале́сский) is a town in Yaroslavl Oblast, Russia, on the shore of Lake Pleshcheyevo.
Pereslavl-Zalessky has existed since the year 1152, when it was founded by Prince Yury Dolgoruky.
There is an Institute for Program Systems of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
Tsar Peter the Great developed the first Russian naval strategy using boats on Lake Pleshcheyevo. The Botik (small boat) museum chronicles the history of the first Russian fleet.
