Pescara - Definition

Pescara is a city in the central Italian region of Abruzzo, 42°28N 14°12E, on the Adriatic sea; with a population of 121,700 as of the 2003 census.

The city of Pescara is divided in two parts by the river Pescara that gives it the name.

Between 1924 and 1961, it hosted the Coppa Acerbo automobile race.

This city was the birthplace of Gabriele d'Annunzio and Ennio Flaiano.
