Sir Peter Reginald Frederick Hall (born 22 November, 1930) is a British theatre and film director.

He was born in Bury St. Edmunds, England and learnt Russian at the Joint Services School for Linguists during his National Service.

Hall is best known for his work with the Royal Shakespeare Company which he founded in 1960. He served as its artistic director from that time until 1968. In 1973 he became director of the Royal National Theatre, and in 1977 was knighted for his services to the theatre.

Hall has been married four times, including the actress Leslie Caron, and the opera singer Maria Ewing.
