Phalangerida is one of the two suborders of the large marsupial order Diprotodontia. This large and diverse suborder includes kangaroos, wallabies, quokkas, possums, gliding possum-like marsupials and others. The much smaller suborder Vombatiformes encompasses only the koalas and wombats.
