Phil Selway - Definition

Phil Selway
Philip "Phil" James Selway (born May 23, 1967) is the drummer of Radiohead. Phil is often jokingly called the "bald member". In fact he is one of the friendliest and his soft and polite voice can easily be recognized in interviews and concerts. Before joining Radiohead he had worked for various touring musicians and worked as an English teacher.

Phil is the oldest member of the band and perhaps the most underrated one. His intensive timing, musicality and talent are strong and integral parts of the band's sound and worldwide appeal. Phil has developed himself as a gifted drummer and one of the most respected sticksmen of the UK scene. Many fans agree that songs just wouldn't be the same had someone else drummed on them.

Unlike other members' activities, Phil keeps a lower profile—he doesn't have many contributions, beside his work behind the drumkit in one of the most influential alternative rock bands in the world. Nevertheless he's been linked with the Samaritans Health organisation as a devoter and member for years. He will also appear in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire as a member of the band "The Wyrd Sisters" along with Radiohead bandmate Jonny Greenwood and Pulp frontman - Jarvis Cocker. Currently, Phil is married and has two children.
