Phlox (pronounced like "flocks") is a genus of perennial flower that bloom in early spring. They are native mainly in temperate North America, with a few species in eastern Asia. Phlox are very sensitive to drought, and require plenty of moisture.
Phlox range in color from pale blue to bright red to white. Some species such as Smooth Phlox, grow to 1.5 m tall, while others, such as Creeping Phlox, form low mats only a few centimetres in height.
