phranc (Suzy Gottlieb) was the songwriter singer attributed with the acoustic folk revival of the late 1980`s. She was an integral person in the California (LA) punk scene of the late 1970`s, early 80`s. Phranc also played in Catholic Discipline, in which Claude Bessey (Slash mags main journo) sang. She was in Castration Squad too..

Phranc did the switch to folk after punk and was out about being a jewish lesbian...she released Folksinger on Rhino in 1985.
