Physical science is the branch of science including chemistry and physics, usually contrasted with the social sciences and sometimes including and sometimes contrasted with natural or biological science.
Physical science includes the sub-branches of aerodynamics, astronomy and astrophysics, classical mechanics, civil engineering, electrical engineering, energy, geography, geology, mechanical engineering, physical chemistry, statistical mechanics, thermodynamics, quantum mechanics. Sometimes mathematics is also included, though more commonly it is considered a separate science or theoretical practice, more akin to philosophy. There also exist fields such as biomechanics, biochemistry, and genetics, which span the gap between the physical and biological sciences.
