Pierre Cardin - Definition and Overview

Pierre Cardin (born July 7, 1922) is a French fashion designer. He was born at his parents vacation home in San Andrea da Barbara near Venice, Italy. His parents moved back to their native France in 1926 where Pierre grew up in the town of Saint-Étienne.

In 1991 he was made a UNESCO goodwill ambassador, and has been especially active in supporting their Foundation for AIDS research.
