Vegeta is the home planet of Vegeta, Son Goku, Nappa, Raditz and all other native Saiyans in the fictional universe of Dragon Ball/Dragon Ball Z.
The planet was destroyed by Freeza during King Vegeta's reign and although the whole population put up a defence and King Vegeta even boarded Frieza's ship, the few Saiyans who were away at the time were the only survivors.
The destruction of Planet Vegeta is slightly different between the manga and the anime.
In the anime, Freeza destroys the planet with a Death Ball.
In the manga Freeza simply states that he attacked the planet. No other information is available in the manga.
