Poeas Poeas

Poeas - Definition

In Greek mythology, Poeas, or Poias was one of the Argonauts and a friend of Heracles.

In some sources, he (not Philoctetes) lit Heracles' funeral pyre and thus received his bow and arrows.

Also in Greek mythology, Poeas was the King of Meliboea in Thessaly.

His son was Philoctetes.
