Portmarnock (Irish: Port MearnĂ³g) is a town in North County Dublin, Ireland. It is by the coast, and due to its proximity to Dublin city, is a dormitory town. The town name comes from the Irish word port – meaning bank (e.g. of a river) – and refers to a St. Mernoc.

Portmarnock is most famous for its world class golf course.
Portmarnock Beach is now becoming very popular with wind surfers and kite surfers
