The Princeton Branch is a branch off of New Jersey Transit's Northeast Corridor Line. Also known as the Dinky Line, the branch is served by special shuttle trains. In Princeton University slang, the train is called the 'Dinky', hence the nickname of the line. The term is anachronistic, as 'dinky' is a term for a small locomotive, but the Princeton Branch is today served by a locomotive-less electric multiple unit coach. NJ Transit has also considered using diesel multiple unit coaches on the line.
