Project network - Definition and Overview

A project network is a graphic flow chart of a project job plan that is developed from the work breakdown structure (WBS). The project network depicts the project activities that must be completed, the logical sequences, the interdependencies of the activities to be completed, and in most cases the times for the activities to start and finish along with the longest path through the network.

Whereas the WBS emphasizes the "spacial" structure of the project activities, the project network emphasizes the sequential aspects of the project activities.
