Proletarian Revolution - Definition |

|
Deriving from the Marxist term Proletariat meaning working class, the Proletarian Revolution is the true Marxist theory that states the workers of the world must unite and free themselves from the chains of capitalist oppression. A key advocate of this theory, Trotsky alienated the Russian public which was already exhausted from successive world and civil wars with his policies of Proletarian Revolution (variants of this theory are "Global Revolution" and "Permanent Revolution"). His unpopular policies along with other factors collectively lead to Trotsky's downfall and the rise of Stalin with his more moderate policy of "Socialism in One Country."
