Puddleglum - Definition and Overview

Puddleglum was fictional character known as a marshwiggle in C.S. Lewis's novel The Silver Chair, which was part of The Chronicles of Narnia. Marshwiggles are taller than humans and have tough leathery skin. The live in the marshes and smoke a strange sort of 'tobacco', some say they mix it with mud. A giant's cookbook in the Harfang, home of the gentle giants, described the flesh of a Marshwiggle as being "muddy tasting". Marshwiggles are well known for their glum and pessamistic views on life; however, they are very loyal.
