The Hon. Jules A. Brillant bought the Corporation de Téléphone Nationale and incorporated it into the Corporation de Téléphone et Valeurs d'Utilités Publiques de Québec. Soon after, this group became a consortium bearing the name Corporation de Téléphone et de Pouvoir de Québec.
1936
The Corporation de Téléphone et de Pouvoir de Québec merged its networks to produce two subsidiaries: the Compagnie de Téléphone Portneuf et Champlain and the Compagnie de Téléphone Nationale.
1937
The head office of the Corporation de Téléphone et de Pouvoir de Québec was established in Rimouski.
1947
The Corporation de Téléphone et de Pouvoir de Québec dropped its holding company role and became an operating company: the Corporation de Téléphone de Québec.
1955
The Quebec Legislative Assembly passed a special bill confirming the company's new name: Québec-Téléphone.
1966
The Anglo-Canadian Telephone Company, a subsidiary of the GTE Corporation, became the majority shareholder of Québec-Téléphone.
1997
A new consortium, the Groupe QuébecTel Inc., was established. This holding company maintained investments in its subsidiaries and owned and operated the second-largest telecommunications network in Quebec.
March 2000
TELUS, Canada's second-largest telecommunications firm, announced its intention of acquiring 70% of the shares of the Groupe QuébecTel.
May 2000
A majority of QuébecTel's shareholders voted into favour of the transaction confirming QuébecTel's merger with TELUS.
April 2001
QuébecTel became TELUS Québec
