Dr. Randall Baron is the researcher responsible for conducting the first research projects into the use of cryogenics applied to metals to make them harder, stronger and more durable. Originally tied to Louisana Tech University, the current whereabouts of Dr. Baron are unknown.
During his studies with the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Louisana Tech University, Dr. Baron and his research team found that for various metal samples soaked at -320 degrees Fahrenheit, the wear resistance was approximately 2.6 times greater than that for samples soaked at -120 degrees Fahrenheit. This research was initially funded by 300 Below/CryoTech.
