The Raptor class of Klingon scoutship was in use, in the Star Trek future history, during the 22nd century. It is more heavily armored than some ships.
There is also a Raptor class Federation starship in the 24th century, a light destroyer based on the USS Defiant of Star Trek: Deep Space 9 fame.
