Raymond Ayala a.k.a. Daddy Yankee (February 3, 1976) in Río Piedras, Puerto Rico, is a singer of rap music

He is one of the fastest rappers heard in Spanish music, especially in his song "Me Quedo" from his album Los Homerun-es. You can hear him on the remix of the song "Oye Mi Canto", along with N.O.R.E. and Nina Sky. He also has a new song out called "Gasolina" from his newest CD, Barrio Fino, released July 13, 2004, which has sold over 500,000 copies in the island alone. Daddy Yankee can always be heard in Reggaeton songs that have a dance beat, and that is what has made him famous. He has appeared in more than 50 albums, including best-selling albums Más Flow, Blin Blin Vol. 1 and others. Yankee also performed with Nas in the Madison Square Garden.

He got his start on the local scene in the early 1990s alongside Playero DJ, one of the pioneers of the modern reggaeton rhythm. He has also performed with LunyTunes, DJ Blass, DJ Eric, Eliel, Mr. Notty providing the beats, among others.
