Reading East is a parliamentary constituency in the English county of Berkshire. It comprises the central, northern and eastern parts of the Borough of Reading (specifically the wards of Abbey, Caversham, Church, Katesgrove, Mapledurham, Park, Peppard, Redlands and Thames), together with the parishes of Woodley and (part of) Earley in Wokingham District. From the creation of the constituency in 1983 until the General Election in 1997, the sitting Member of Parliament was Sir Gerard Folliott Vaughan, formerly MP for Reading South. Since 1997, the constituency has been represented by Jane Griffiths.
