Reading West is a parliamentary constituency in the English county of Berkshire. It comprises the western part of the Borough of Reading (specifically the wards of Battle, Kentwood, Minster, Norcot, Southcote, Tilehurst and Whitley) together with the parishes of Holybrook, Pangbourne, Purley-On-Thames, Sulham, Theale and Tilehurst in West Berkshire District. From the creation of the constituency in 1983 until the General Election in 1997, the sitting Member of Parliament was Sir Robert Anthony Bevis Durant, formerly MP for Reading North. Since 1997, the constituency has been represented by Martin Salter.
