Ready Steady Cook is a BBC daytime TV cooking programme hosted by celebrity chef Ainsley Harriott. The format is that two members of the public provide two celebrity chefs with a bag of ingredients. The chefs then proceed to make something out of the said ingredients (and a generously stocked kitchen containing basic ingredients and spices) in twenty minutes, with the help of the contestants. Their creations are then voted upon by the studio audience, and the runner-up (there are no outright losers) receives a wooden spoon

A recent inclusion is the quickie bag where, after the winner has been chosen the chefs have to make a dish with the help of Ainsley Harriott from a bag of ingredients provided by the show. Just after the winner of the first round has been announced the two chefs describe what they would cook using the supplied ingredients. The audience then votes for who they want to see cook.
