Restitution is the process by which land and other property that was forcibly removed from its owners is restored or compensation of equivalent value provided.

Restitution damages are those damages which attempt to place the breaching party in the status quo ante, that is, in the position he/she was before the contract had been entered into. In restitution, the breaching party will give back the benefits incurred upon him/her ir order to avoid unjust enrichment.
