Reute AR - Definition

Reute is a municipality in the canton of Appenzell Ausserrhoden in Switzerland. It has a population of 700 (as of 2002). The area of Reute is 499 hectares.

Reute is divided into three districts which are individual hamlets: Mohren (110 people), Reute (190 people) and Schachen (390 people). The church is more than 300 years old.
