Rhapsody (also known as Listen.com) is an online subscription-based music service, acquired by RealNetworks in August 2003. Rhapsody originally launched in December 2001, before its competitors MusicNet and pressplay (reborn as Napster 2.0). Notably, all of these services launched a year and a half before the iTunes Music Store. Rhapsody is available to U.S. residents only, due to "licensing restrictions".
