the Rhine-Main Danube Canal (in the foreground) near Nuremberg The Rhine-Main-Danube Canal (also called Main-Danube Canal, RMD Canal or Europa Canal) connects the Main and Danube from Bamberg by Nuremberg to Regensburg. It makes a constantly navigable connection from the Rhine delta in Rotterdam to the Danube Delta in the Black Sea. It was completed in 1992.
