Rich Fields (born November 30, 1960, in Bay Village, Ohio), is the current announcer of the American television game show The Price is Right.
Fields lived in Avon, Ohio, before moving to Clearwater, Florida, in 1976. He graduated from the University of Florida in 1983 with a degree in broadcasting. He worked as a disc jockey for several radio stations and did several commercial voiceovers after graduating. During part of the 1990s he was the announcer for the Florida Flamingo Fortunes lottery game show. He also was the chief meteorologist for KPSP-TV in Palm Springs, California, from 2002 to 2004.
In early 2004 Fields auditioned for the announcing role on The Price is Right that was vacated by the death of Rod Roddy. He was named the show's permanent announcer on April 8, 2004, and host Bob Barker introduced him to the show's viewers on the April 27 episode. On his website, Fields mentions that the inspiration to his broadcasting career came from listening to original TPiR announcer Johnny Olson while growing up.
