Rimonabant or SR141716A is an anorectic anti-obesity drug. It will be sold by Sanofi-Aventis under the trade name Acomplia starting in 2006. Rimonabant might also be effective as an anti-addictive drug in the treatment of alcoholism as well as nicotine and stimulant addiction. Rimonabant is a CB1 cannabinoid receptor antagonist.
