River Colne, Hertfordshire - Definition and Overview

The Colne is a river in England. It flows mainly through Hertfordshire though is also a boundary of Middlesex and Buckinghamshire (near Denham). It is a tributary of the River Thames.

The Colne rises near Colney Heath in Hertfordshire and through the Chiltern Hills. It divides into the Frays River, the Colne Brook and the Wraysbury River. It links to the River Pinn and in the South is the "Colne Brook"

The villages of Colnbrook near Slough and London Colney in Hertfordshire take their name from this river.
