The Lune passing through Lancaster

The River Lune is a river of the United Kingdom, formed at Wath, North Yorkshire, at the confluence of Sandwath Beck and Weasdale Beck.

The river then passes past the remnants of a Roman fort near Low Borrowbridge, finally meeting the Irish Sea at Plover Scar near Lancaster, after a final length of 70 km.

Bridges over the Lune include the Lune Millennium Bridge in Lancaster, through which it passes. Lancaster (and hence also Lancashire) is named after the Lune.
