The River Weaver is a watercourse in Cheshire, England. It flows approximately south to north across the Cheshire Plain, and today empties into the Manchester Ship Canal at Weston Point Docks, near Runcorn.
North of Winsford, the river is navigable (having a history, dating back to the 18th century, of being used to carry salt and chemicals). Upstream from Winsford, the river passes through the small market town of Nantwich.
Perhaps its most notable feature is the Anderton Boat Lift, near Northwich, which links the Weaver with the Trent and Mersey Canal some 50ft above.
