Robert William Ney (born July 5, 1954) is an American politician of the Republican Party who serves as a U.S. representative from the 18th District of Ohio.
Ney was born in Wheeling, West Virginia and received a bachelor of sciences degree from Ohio State University (Columbus, Ohio) in 1976. He then worked as a teacher and as a public safety director for the municipal government of Bellaire, Ohio. He then worked for the Ohio Office of Appalachia as program manager for health and education.
Ney served as an Ohio state representative from 1981 to 1983 and as an Ohio state senator from 1985 to 1995.
In 1994, Ney was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives and began serving in 1995 (104th Congress).
Ney is Chairman of the U.S. House Committee on House Administration.
