Robert Philp - Definition

Robert Philp (1851-1922) was Premier of Queensland, Australia, from December 1899 to September 1903 and had a short second premiership from November 1907 to February 1908. He introduced income tax to Queensland.

Philp was successful in business as well as politics, being a partner in the large trading company Burns Philp and Company.
