Roger Caron is a Canadian bank robber and the author of the influential 1978 prison memoir Go-Boy: Memories of a Life Behind Bars. At the time of writing, Caron was 39 years old and had spent 23 years in prison. The book was awarded the 1978 Governor General's Award for nonfiction and was widely acknowledged for its insights into prison life. In 1993 he was arrested for two more armed robberies and in October 2001, while still on parole, he was charged with unlawfully being in possession of a restricted handgun after being arrested at an Ottawa shopping mall. The pistol was loaded and he also had a bag that contained a mask. At the time of his latest arrest he was 62 years old and suffering from advanced Parkinson's disease.
