Rogers Wireless is a division of Rogers Communications, part of the Ted Rogers Empire. Rogers Wireless is a leading Canadian cell phone provider from coast to coast. They offer the following services:

• AMPS on the 800 MHz 'A' band
• IS-136 (aka TDMA) on the 850 MHz band.
• GSM/GPRS/EDGE on the 850 and 1900 MHz bands
• Mobitex/GSM/GPRS BlackBerries
• Wireless Data Services
• Two way messaging

Rogers used to operate IS-136 on the 1900 MHz band, but has since shifted this spectrum entirely to GSM service.

Rogers Wireless carries phones made by Nokia, Motorola, Samsung, Siemens AG, LG, Sony Ericsson, and Panasonic. Rogers now focuses primarily on their GSM/GPRS/EDGE network, and has for the past 2 years.

Rogers purchased Fido/Microcell in November, 2004, creating Canada's largest Wireles carrier (subscriber volume) and Canada's only GSM Network.
