The Romanian national football team is the national team of Romania and is controlled by the Romanian Football Federation. Their best showing in the World Cup came in 1994, when they made the quarterfinals.

Romania was one of only four countries (Belgium, Brazil, France) to particpate in the first three World Cups. But they only qualified once until the 1990s, in 1970. In 1994, lead by the terrific Gheorghe Hagi, they made the quarterfinals, upsetting Argentina 3-2, before losing to Sweden on penalty kicks.

Their best finish in the European Championship was the quarterfinals in 2000.
