Rugby is a local government district and borough in eastern Warwickshire, England.
It comprises the town of Rugby (the administrative headquarters) and the surrounding countryside.
The town of Rugby was given borough status in 1932, and had the status of an urban district. The present borough was formed on April 1 1974 when the Rugby urban district was merged with several surrounding rural districts.
