Running on Empty is the fifth album by American singer/songwriter Jackson Browne, released in 1977 (see 1977 in music). The album contains both studio and live tracks. "Running on Empty" is also used as an expression to denote somebody living dangerously.
Running on Empty was nominated for a Grammy Award in 1979, but did not win.
