SC Freiburg is a football club in the German Bundesliga, based in Freiburg, Baden-Württemberg.

From 1950 to 1978, it played in amateur leagues, from 1978 to 1993 in the Second Bundesliga and from 1993 on besides the 1996/1997 season, in the Bundesliga. The club's greatest success was reaching the UEFA Cup in 1996 and 2002. Its coach, Volker Finke is the longest serving coach in Germany, coaching Freiburg since 1991.
