Sabanci University (SU) is one of the most important universities in Turkey today. The motto of Sabanci University is "creating and developing together."
Sabanci University is the only one university which does not need fund support of government in Turkey. It has only 2500 students. On the other hand the university has the highest scholarship rate in terms of student number among other private universities in Turkey.
Sabanci University is located in Tuzla-Istanbul. Although it is far from the downtown Istanbul, Sabancı University provides shuttle bus services from two locations in the city to campus: Kadıköy and Taksim.

History
Sabanci University was established in July 1994 by the Sabanci Group under the supervision one of Turkey's leading family-run foundations, the Haci Omer Foundation (VAKSA).
The ceremony for the Sabanci University campus took place on July 31, 1997. The University began its first academic year on October 20, 1999.
