Sabri Brothers - Definition and Overview

The Sabri Brothers were a musical group consisting of Haji Maqbool Ahmed Sabri and Haji Ghulaam Fareed Mehmood Ghaznavi Sabri. They were praised by the sensitive and masterly performed qawwalis showing the beautiful traditions of sufism. There was a great emphasis on revealing the poetry of the khwajagan ("masters"), such as Amir Khusro, Maulana Rumi and Omar Khayyam.
