Sadhana - Definition and Overview

Sadhana means spiritual exercise in Hinduism. The goal of sadhana is to attain moksha, to calm the mind or to obtain grace from God. Sadhana can involve meditation, namasmarana (sometimes with the help of a japa mala), mortification of the flesh or bhakti yoga.
