Saint-Gilles (French), or Sint-Gillis (Dutch) is one of the nineteen municipalities located in the Brussels-Capital Region of Belgium.

On 1 January 2004 the municipality had a total population of 43,897 (22,205 males and 21,692 females). The total area is 2.52 km² which gives a population density of 17,387.02 inhabitants per km².

Saint Gilles has a legendary footballclub called Royal Union Saint Gilloise (http://www.rusg.be) which was sucessful until the thirties.

Saint Gilles is the hometown of the famous architect Victor Horta. The house that he designed for hismself (now Horta Museum) is built there.
