Sakata (坂田郡; -gun) is a district located in Shiga, Japan.
As of 2003, the district has an estimated population of 41,126 and a density of 184.34 persons per km². The total area is 223.10 km².
On Feb. 14, 2005, Sakata District will disappear due to the merging of Ibuki, Santo, and Maihara towns to form a new city called Maibara-shi.
