Sanliurfa is one of the most important historical cities in the world. Outside the city, it is possible to see some population with an ancient life (Such as in Harran). < Harran > ovasi is in Sanliurfa. It used to be an dry, poor place. After the < GAP > project (which some part is still waiting to be finished), which caused billions of dollars, water came to the region and the soil became fertile. It would cost just a little money to buy some land before, but after the GAP project the price has rised enormous. GAP project made the land very important. It also has Kurdish population among Turkish population. It is also believed that the prophet Abraham had lived here. There are some sites that is regarded to Abraham.
