The Sourashtra language is now spoken by the Sourashtra( Palkar ) community in some parts of TamilNadu.
History
The Sourashtra language is spoken by the Sourashtra Community or the Palkar community.Their descendants migrated to South India basically as Weavers in the 17th century. They first settled in the Vijayanagar kingdom and later migrated down to regions around Madurai under King Thirumalai Nayak, who built the world famous Madurai Meenakshi Temple.
