Savannah College of Art and Design - Definition and Overview

The Savannah College of Art and Design is a private, non-profit, accredited college awarding bachelor of fine arts, master of architecture, master of arts and master of fine arts degrees. It is located in Savannah, Georgia; it is often referred to as SCAD.

The college offers 22 major areas of study: animation, architecture, architectural history, art history, broadcast design, fashion, fibers, film and television, furniture design, graphic design, historic preservation, illustration, industrial design, interactive design and game development, interior design, media and performing arts, metals and jewelry, painting, photography, sequential art, sound design and visual effects.

Minors are offered in each of the major programs as well as in dance, decorative arts, drawing, electronic design, interaction design, museum studies, printmaking, sculpture, sound design and writing.
